My grandmother turned 85 a couple of weeks ago and was able to get a ticket to Memphis and meet my family in Hot Springs, Arkansas to celebrate with them.

The view from my indefinintly open window and Downtown Hot Springs
It was an interesting trip. It started with , the volvo window not rolling back up on our 3 1/2 hour ride down. My dad had to drive to Little Rock the next day and get the switch fixed(he had just gotten its breaks fixed the weekend before).

The Ghetto Hotel
The hotel my mom booked was less than a block from the nicest hotel in town which was only $20 more. Our hotel was very ghetto -Plastic covers under the pillowcases, outdated decor and concave mattresses. I ask a lady to move her car who was blocking the entrance to the hotel parking lot and she tried to pick a fight.

The Arlington Hotel, where we should have stayed
We went to dinner to celebrate my grandmother and it was completely crazy. A lot of the orders got messed up because that had over cooked or under cooked the steaks. Literaly, everytime an order was brought to our table another was sent back. My new age, vegan aunt and uncle (who are eating with us at a steak house) ordered pasta and of course sent their order back because it didn't taste good.

Me, Mom, Vegan Uncle, and Aunt
On our way out of town my dad realized he had lost his cell phone and had to pick it up at a gas station. On the way back, my dad's pick up truck's oil pump went out ( on a Sunday) and he had to leave the car at a shop and rent a car and drive back. My mom and I drove back in her car down the terrible Arkansas roads. When we had gotten home she realized she had left all her clothes in the hotel drawers.

The Arlington Lobby and The Baths
In between the craziness, we did have fun dancing at the nice hotel and going to the spa.
